In spring 1776 the Continental Congress ordered large reinforcements to Canada following the unsuccessful American assault on Quebec. Among the troops sent north was Colonel Anthony Wayne and his Fourth Battalion of the Pennsylvania Line. This presentation will examine Wayne’s role on the Northern Frontier, including the disastrous Battle of Three Rivers, the American retreat from Canada, and his subsequent role as commander at Fort Ticonderoga.
