2019 Wreaths Across America at the Paoli Battlefield

Wreaths Across America was held at the Paoli Battlefield on Saturday, December 14, 2019. The event was presented by The Paoli Battlefield Preservation Fund, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Paoli Memorial Association.

We would like to thank Karen Christen, State Treasurer, PA State Society, DAR, and Karen Christen, State Treasurer, PA State Society, DAR who were instrumental in organizing the event.

The ceremony began at 11 A.M. as MaCherie Dunbar, constituent to U.S. Representative Chrissy Houlahan, gave opening remarks. The event speaker was George Washington, portrayed by Dean Malissa.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s ceremony, including students of St. Patrick’s School, the Honor Guard from American Legion Posts #668 and #646, Girl Scout Troop #4996 and Boy Scout Troup #7, Lynne Frederick, Malvern Historical Commission Chair, and Barbara Rutz, Malvern Historical Commission Vice-Chair.

We would also like to thank Les Chanteurs Historique (Antoine Watts & Abigail Shelley) for singing our national anthem and “Chester”, by William Billings; Jerry Flynn from the Chester County Emerald Band for performing “Amazing Grace”; and Tom Herman for performing TAPS.
